Ingredients
Scale
Green Bean Bundles
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 6 slices bacon
Glaze
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar substitute
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a large cookie sheet by placing a wire rack on top.
- Prepare Green Beans: Wash and dry the green beans, then trim off the ends. Group 5 to 10 green beans together and place them on a slice of bacon. Roll the bacon tightly around the green beans and place each bundle seam side down on the wire rack. Repeat until all green beans are wrapped.
- Make Glaze: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove. Stir in the brown sugar substitute and garlic powder until well combined, then remove from heat.
- Apply Glaze: Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the bacon-wrapped green bean bundles. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the bundles to taste.
- Roast Bundles: Cover the entire tray loosely with foil and roast in the oven for 35 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue roasting for an additional 15 minutes or until the bacon is crisp and green beans are tender.
Notes
- Fresh green beans are preferred for the best texture and flavor, but frozen green beans can be used if fresh are unavailable.
- Canned green beans are not recommended as they may become mushy when cooked.
- Thin-cut bacon works best for crispiness; thick-cut bacon may not crisp properly in the allotted roasting time.
