Description

A delicious and visually stunning Crescent Breakfast Ring featuring scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, bell peppers, and melted cheddar cheese wrapped in flaky crescent rolls. Perfect for a hearty breakfast or brunch with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale

Egg Mixture

  • 5 large eggs
  • ½ medium red bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Other Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, fried and drained
  • 8 ounce crescent rolls (refrigerated, 1 can)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg, for egg wash (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375℉ to prepare for baking the breakfast ring.
  2. Prepare Egg Mixture: In a bowl, beat 5 eggs with chopped red and green bell peppers, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Cook Scrambled Eggs: In a skillet (preferably the same one used for bacon after draining fat), cook the egg mixture until scrambled but still soft, avoiding overcooking.
  4. Lay Out Crescent Rolls: Spread out the crescent rolls on a parchment paper in a star shape as shown in the reference photos.
  5. Add Fillings: Place a slice of fried bacon on each crescent roll. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly around the ring, then add the scrambled eggs, and top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Fold Crescents: Carefully fold the crescent dough over the fillings to form a ring. Optionally, brush with the beaten egg wash to give the ring a nice golden brown color when baked.
  7. Transfer to Baking Sheet: Move the parchment paper with the arranged ring onto a large baking sheet for baking.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the crescent dough is cooked through and golden brown.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh parsley and serve the breakfast ring warm for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Keep the crescent dough cold until just before assembling for easier handling and better flakiness.
  • Cook bacon and vegetables fully before assembling to prevent soggy dough.
  • Scramble eggs only until soft and just set, as they will continue to cook in the oven.
  • Customize the filling by swapping cheeses or adding cooked vegetables or meats, but keep fillings balanced for even baking.
  • You can assemble the ring in advance, cover tightly, and refrigerate overnight; bake fresh in the morning.
  • Serve warm to enjoy the flaky crescent dough and melty cheese at their best.
