- 7-8 mozzarella cheese sticks, cut into 31 pieces
Garlic Butter Topping
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Additional
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Optional: grated parmesan cheese for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare Dough and Cheese: Cut each biscuit into fourths to have 32 pieces, using only 31 for this recipe. Cut mozzarella sticks into 31 pieces as well.
- Assemble Cheese Balls: Place a small piece of mozzarella cheese on each dough square, seal the edges well, and roll into smooth balls with your hands.
- Form Christmas Tree Shape: Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in a tree shape, placing seam side down and letting the balls touch slightly. Brush the beaten egg gently over the dough to give it a glossy finish.
- Bake the Bread: Bake for 17 minutes or until the dough is golden brown. Keep an eye on the bread and cover with foil if it browns too quickly.
- Make Garlic Butter: While baking, melt the butter and mix in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning.
- Apply Garlic Butter and Garnish: Brush the garlic butter mixture over the hot bread as soon as it comes out of the oven. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese if desired.
- Serve: Serve immediately with marinara or pesto sauce for dipping to enjoy this festive appetizer.
