Description

A festive and colorful Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy made with mini marshmallows, white chocolate, and chewy Dots candy, perfect for holiday celebrations and gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Dots candy
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ¾ cups white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper and set it aside for easy removal later.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a small, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds until the chocolate is smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Melt marshmallows and butter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine mini marshmallows and unsalted butter. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until marshmallows have puffed up. Stir until butter is completely melted and marshmallows are smooth.
  4. Combine chocolate with marshmallows: Quickly add the melted white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture and stir well but swiftly to incorporate before it sets.
  5. Add most of the Dots candy: Stir in all but ⅓ cup of the Dots candy, mixing evenly to distribute them throughout the nougat.
  6. Transfer to pan: Immediately pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spray your hands with cooking spray to spread it evenly across the pan surface.
  7. Decorate with remaining candy: Press the remaining ⅓ cup of Dots candy into the top of the nougat to add color and texture, filling any gaps.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to help remove nougat easily from the pan when set.
  • Microwaving times may vary slightly depending on your microwave's wattage.
  • Spraying hands with cooking spray prevents the sticky mixture from sticking while spreading.
  • If white chocolate thickens too much before mixing, gently rewarm it for a few seconds.
  • Allow nougat to set at room temperature for about 4 hours or until firm before cutting into pieces.
