Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Arrange Pretzels and Caramel: Place half of the mini pretzel twists in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Place a caramel half right in the center of each pretzel.
  3. Bake Caramel: Bake the pretzels with caramel for 5 minutes or until the caramels become soft and slightly melted.
  4. Press Pretzels Together: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and quickly press one pretzel on top of each caramel, sandwiching the caramel between two pretzels. Leave them on the sheet to cool completely.
  5. Melt Red Candy Melts: Combine the red candy melts with 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in 30-second increments, stirring thoroughly between each until smooth. Add more shortening, 1 teaspoon at a time, if needed to achieve a smooth consistency.
  6. Drizzle Red Candy: Spoon the melted red candy into a piping bag or plastic bag and snip off a corner. Drizzle the red chocolate over each pretzel bite until fully covered.
  7. Melt and Drizzle Green Candy Melts: Repeat the melting process with green candy melts and shortening, then drizzle over the pretzel bites.
  8. Melt and Drizzle White Candy Melts with Sprinkles: Repeat the melting process for the white candy melts and drizzle them over the pretzels. Immediately sprinkle holiday sprinkles over the wet candy melts before they set.
  9. Allow to Set: Let the candy melts set completely at room temperature before storing or serving.
