Description

Delight in festive Christmas Tree Cake Truffles made with Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes, coated in white chocolate and decorated with red candy melts and green sanding sugar. These bite-sized treats are perfect for holiday parties or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Decorations

  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts for drizzling (optional)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl.
  2. Crumble the cakes: Use a handheld mixer to mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Stir in the festive sprinkles evenly.
  3. Form cake balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop the dough and roll it between your palms to form balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used.
  4. Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second bursts or a double boiler until smooth.
  5. Coat the truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate, coating completely. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place back on the baking sheet.
  6. Melt red candy melts: Melt the red candy melts in a piping or ziplock bag in 30-second increments in the microwave, massaging the bag between each until fully melted.
  7. Decorate the truffles: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the coated truffles. Sprinkle green sanding sugar over the top.
  8. Set the truffles: Place the decorated truffles in the fridge for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure the cake balls are well chilled before dipping to help the chocolate coat smoothly.
  • Use a piping bag or a ziplock bag with a small cut corner for easy candy melt drizzling.
  • For a firmer coating, let the white chocolate set slightly before adding red drizzle and sanding sugar.
  • You can substitute festive sprinkles with crushed peppermint or colored sugar for varying textures.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
