Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 6 pickles (cut into 12 quarters)
- 1½ cups Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons Montreal steak seasoning or regular steak seasoning
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Prepare the dredging stations: In a medium bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk to create the egg wash. In a third medium bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs with the Montreal steak seasoning.
- Coat the pickles: Dip each pickle quarter first into the flour, then into the egg wash, and finally into the seasoned Panko breadcrumbs, ensuring each piece is fully coated. Place the coated pickles on a plate as you go.
- Preheat and prepare air fryer basket: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Arrange and cook pickles: Place the breaded pickles in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching to allow air circulation. Spray the tops of the pickles with cooking spray.
- Air fry: Cook the pickles at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes until golden and crispy. You may need to cook in batches depending on your air fryer size.
- Serve: Remove the pickles and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use dill pickle quarters found in the refrigerated section for best flavor.
- Arrange pickles so they do not touch for even cooking and crispiness.
- Panko breadcrumbs are recommended for a crisp texture; regular breadcrumbs can be substituted if needed.
- Cooking time may vary depending on the size and thickness of the pickles.
- Spray the air fryer basket and pickles with cooking spray to prevent sticking and encourage browning.
- Store leftover pickles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer until crispy and hot; avoid freezing as it reduces crispiness.
