Description

A festive and refreshing Christmas Sangria featuring a blend of fresh fruits, sweet red wine, apple cider, and fragrant spices, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 1.5 cups sliced apple
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 navel orange
  • 1 orange sliced

Liquids and Sweeteners

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 cups unfiltered apple cider
  • 1 cup unsweetened 100% cranberry juice
  • 1 bottle sweet red wine of choice (750 ml)

Spices and Garnishes

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Slice the apples and one orange, and gather the fresh or frozen cranberries. Slice the navel orange as well if desired. Add all the prepared fruit into a large pitcher or punch bowl.
  2. Add liquids and sweeteners: Pour in the sweet red wine, unsweetened cranberry juice, unfiltered apple cider, lemon juice, and honey into the pitcher with the fruit. Stir everything well to combine the flavors.
  3. Add garnishes: Place fresh rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks on top of the mixture to infuse the sangria with festive aromas and flavor.
  4. Chill the sangria: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld together. For best results, chill overnight before serving.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Pour the chilled sangria into glasses, including some fruit pieces and garnishes in each serving. Enjoy a festive holiday drink with family and friends.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the sweet red wine with a sparkling grape juice or additional cranberry juice.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste preference.
  • Using unfiltered apple cider adds depth of flavor, but fresh apple juice can also be used as a substitute.
  • Chilling the sangria overnight enhances the infusion of flavors, making the drink more aromatic and tasty.
  • Use fresh rosemary and cinnamon sticks for the best fragrance and flavor impact.
