Description

Delight in the festive spirit with these Grinch Christmas Truffles, made from crushed Oreos and creamy whipped cream cheese, coated in vibrant green vanilla almond bark and topped with red heart sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or gifting, these no-bake treats are easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36 Regular Oreos
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream cheese spread

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 ounces vanilla almond bark
  • Green gel food coloring (to desired amount)
  • 18 red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and crush completely into crumbs, about 3 minutes, until fine.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs into a large mixing bowl and stir in the whipped cream cheese spread until a thick mixture forms. Using clean hands can make mixing easier.
  3. Form Balls: Scoop the mixture into balls using a 1 ½ Tablespoons cookie scoop and roll them smooth by hand.
  4. Chill Truffles: Arrange the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place them in the refrigerator for 1 hour until firm.
  5. Melt Almond Bark: Place the vanilla almond bark in a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Stir well, then continue heating in 15-30 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted, about 2 minutes total.
  6. Add Coloring: Stir green gel food coloring into the melted almond bark until you achieve the desired vivid green color. Avoid liquid coloring to prevent seizing.
  7. Dip Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle ball individually into the colored almond bark until fully coated. Let the excess drip off, then place back on the parchment paper.
  8. Decorate: While the coating is still soft, press one red heart sprinkle onto each truffle.
  9. Final Chill: Return the decorated truffles to the refrigerator for an additional 1 hour or until the coating is completely hardened.
  10. Serve: Serve the Grinch Christmas Truffles cold or at room temperature for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Store truffles covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze truffles well wrapped in a freezer-safe container or bag for 3-4 months.
  • Substitute any flavor of Oreo cookies if desired.
  • You can use regular cream cheese softened to room temperature instead of whipped cream cheese spread, using slightly less than ½ cup.
  • Feel free to decorate with any holiday sprinkles or leave plain if preferred.
  • Using your hands to combine the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese spread is easier than using a spoon.
  • Do NOT use liquid food coloring in the almond bark or it will seize and become unusable.
