Description

These Valentine’s Oreo Truffles are a delightful and festive treat made with golden Oreo cookies mixed with cream cheese, dipped in vanilla candy coating, and decorated with colorful Valentine’s sprinkles. Perfect for gift-giving or enjoying as a sweet indulgence during the holiday.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36-42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided

Coating & Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place 36 to 42 golden Oreo cookies in a food processor or sealed bag and crush until fine crumbs form.
  2. Mix Truffle Base: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixer or keep in the food processor, then add the softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix thoroughly until well combined and the mixture holds together when rolled.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Using a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, candy scoop, or rounded teaspoon, portion out uniform amounts of the mixture. Roll each into a firm 1 1/4 inch ball and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Freeze the balls while preparing the coating.
  4. Melt Candy Coating: Break the vanilla candy coating into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring each time, until fully melted and smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle ball into the melted candy coating. Tap the fork against the bowl’s edge to remove excess coating.
  6. Decorate: Place dipped truffles on parchment paper. While coating is still soft, sprinkle your favorite Valentine sprinkles on top.
  7. Set Coating: Repeat dipping and decorating all truffles, then refrigerate the tray for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to set.
  8. Serve: Serve the truffles at room temperature for optimal flavor and texture. Enjoy your festive treats!

Notes

  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days for best freshness.
  • Truffles can be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, crush Oreo cookies inside a sealed plastic bag with a rolling pin.
  • If the mixture is too thin to roll, add more crushed Oreo crumbs until it holds together well.
  • Use a toothpick to clean excess coating from the fork after dipping for neater results.
  • Before the coating sets, add extra decorations like crushed candy, nuts, or additional sprinkles for variety.
  • You can drizzle melted contrasting chocolate on hardened coating to customize your decoration further.
