Description

Delightful and festive Snowman Oreo Balls made with Oreo cookie crumbs, cream cheese, and coated in creamy white chocolate. Decorated with snowman-themed sprinkles and chocolate hats, these treats are perfect for holiday celebrations and fun desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 45 Oreo cookies (about an 18 ounce Family Size package)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers, divided

Decorations

  • 12 mini Oreos, pulled apart
  • 24 Rolos candies, dark chocolate
  • Holly sprinkle mix
  • Snowman sprinkle mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Tray: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside for later use.
  2. Make Oreo Crumbs: Place the 45 Oreo cookies into a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
  3. Mix Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened 8 ounces of cream cheese on high speed with a hand mixer until completely smooth.
  4. Combine Oreos and Cream Cheese: Add the Oreo crumbs to the bowl, then mix on medium speed until the crumbs are well incorporated and the mixture is uniform.
  5. Form Oreo Balls: Using a medium cookie scoop, portion the mixture into evenly sized balls. Roll them between your palms to smooth them out, then place them on the prepared baking tray. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours to set.
  6. Prepare Snowman Hats: Melt about ¼ cup of the white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Split the 12 mini Oreos in half and scrape off the cream filling. Use a skewer to apply a dab of melted chocolate onto the flat side of an Oreo half. Immediately place a Rolo candy upside down on top and decorate with holly sprinkle mix. Repeat for all hats, then allow the chocolate to harden.
  7. Melt Remaining Chocolate: Melt the remaining white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring until fully melted and smooth.
  8. Dip Oreo Balls: Use a fork to dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate. Lift and gently tap the fork on the bowl’s side to even out the coating. Place the coated ball back onto the baking tray.
  9. Decorate Faces: Immediately apply snowman sprinkle mix to create the face: use two black sugar pearl sprinkles for eyes, a carrot sprinkle for the nose, and additional black sugar pearl sprinkles for the smile. Work quickly before the chocolate sets.
  10. Add Hats: Place the prepared chocolate hats on top of the snowman heads. If the coating has already set, use a little melted chocolate as glue and hold the hat steady for a few seconds to secure. Repeat for all balls.
  11. Set and Serve: Allow all decorated Oreo balls to set completely for about 15 minutes. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy your festive snowman treats!

Notes

  • Any flavored Oreos can be used as a substitute to add a different twist to the recipe.
  • If Wilton’s Snowman Decorating Sprinkles are unavailable, use black sugar pearls or black icing gel for eyes and smile. Substitute the nose with an orange sprinkle or an orange Tic Tac.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
