Description

A bold and refreshing Spicy Dill Pickle Margarita featuring tequila, dill pickle brine, and a spicy hot honey rim for the perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and citrus flavors.

Cocktail

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz dill pickle brine
  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1 tbsp hot honey (adjust to taste)
  • Sparkling water, to top
  • Mini dill pickles, to garnish
  • Tajin, for the rim

Hot Honey (Optional)

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (Frank’s recommended)
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rim: Brush the rim of your cocktail glass with honey. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of Tajin onto a shallow plate, then dip and roll the glass into the Tajin, shaking off any excess.
  2. Mix the cocktail: In a shaker, combine the tequila, dill pickle brine, Cointreau, lime juice, and hot honey. Add ice and shake vigorously until the mixture is cold.
  3. Serve: Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with mini dill pickles.
  4. Make hot honey (optional): In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring until granules dissolve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or longer in the fridge.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of hot honey to control the spice level of the cocktail.
  • The hot honey can be made in advance and stored for future use.
  • Use quality tequila and fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
  • For a stronger pickle flavor, add extra pickle brine to taste.
