- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz dill pickle brine
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1 tbsp hot honey (adjust to taste)
- Sparkling water, to top
- Mini dill pickles, to garnish
- Tajin, for the rim
Hot Honey (Optional)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (Frank’s recommended)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare the glass rim: Brush the rim of your cocktail glass with honey. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of Tajin onto a shallow plate, then dip and roll the glass into the Tajin, shaking off any excess.
- Mix the cocktail: In a shaker, combine the tequila, dill pickle brine, Cointreau, lime juice, and hot honey. Add ice and shake vigorously until the mixture is cold.
- Serve: Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with mini dill pickles.
- Make hot honey (optional): In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring until granules dissolve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or longer in the fridge.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of hot honey to control the spice level of the cocktail.
- The hot honey can be made in advance and stored for future use.
- Use quality tequila and fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
- For a stronger pickle flavor, add extra pickle brine to taste.
